Watch Colin Cowherd play a game of ‘The Price is Right’ with notable NFL free agents, as Colin predicts how big of contracts and for how long the league’s best available players will get.
“Jerry Jones is the general manager and Mike McCarthy is the coach. If I take the $37.7 million franchise tag I’ve made $68 million-$69 million in two years, and then I put myself on the market. Every year the market has eight teams that need a quarterback, and next year, strangely, many of the GOOD rosters in the NFL will need quarterbacks. If I’m Dak Prescott I take the franchise tag at $37.7 million.”
“Jameis made some good money with his first contract. Jameis is only 27 years old and has got a lot of Tarmac here. He missed just three games in five years with injuries, he doesn’t have to worry about that. If I’m Jameis Winston I want a little security with Sean Payton. I’m going to take two years and $5 million. I’m not going to take three years because I want to hit the market, but I do think you need more than one year as a starter. I’m young, I haven’t been hurt, I want two years starting with Sean Payton and Mickey Loomis. I’d take a two-year, $5 million deal to not only be a one-off year, but at two years, if I’m productive for two years I can go back into the big money range. I also think the roster this year will not be as good as the roster will be the following year because they’re going to have to peel back on some players.”
