Colin Cowherd Ranks the Top 10 'Sidekicks' in Sports History

Colin Cowherd: “Who are the best ‘Robins’ of all time? What does that mean? That term means that on a great team you were the second-best player, or the second most noteworthy player… Some people aren’t ‘Robins’ their entire career, Mark Messier became ‘The Guy’ in New York. But if you’re telling me for an extended period of time – Kobe was a ‘Robin’ for like five to six years before, then Shaq leaves and then they get Gasol, and then the rest of his career he’s ‘The Guy.’"

Watch Colin Cowherd count down his rankings of the top 10 ‘sidekicks’ in sports history.

10. Scottie Pippen

“We started using the ‘Robin’ term with him and he’s also a 6-time champ, a 7-time All-Star, and I would argue that he’s a much better defensive player than he actually was a skilled offensive player. He was a great ‘Robin’ and he always understood that is was Michael’s team and Michael got the last shot. For the record, Tony isn’t the only guy to get the last shot. Often when he was on the floor Kerr and Paxton got the last shot. But Scottie qualifies as the tenth-best ‘Robin’ of all time and I don’t think it’s a shot.”
