Chris Broussard: “The nickname ‘The Freak’ is appropriate because we have not seen anything like this. He’s a 7-footer who doesn’t post up like Shaq, but can’t shoot like Kevin Durant or Dirk Nowitzki, so he’s just an incredible athlete who can pass the ball, who can handle the ball, and he does all these things around the rim that are incredible. As great as Giannis is, he’s probably only 75% of what he could be because when I put his work ethic and mental toughness together, like what if he becomes just an ‘adequate’ mid-range and three-point shooter? He would be unguardable. There are a few guys that you can see and you could say ‘They could be in the GOAT conversation.’ I’m not saying he’ll ever be that, but the potential is there for him to be in the conversation if he can keep winning and improving… Giannis is kind of like the next version of Kareem.”
Listen to Chris Broussard join Colin Cowherd on The Herd explaining why he thinks Giannis Antetokounmpo has the chance to enter the ‘GOAT’ discussion, as Broussard says Giannis is the next version of NBA all-time leading scorer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
Check out the video above as Chris details why he thinks the two-time MVP winner is only ‘75%’ of what his true potential could really be, and that’s absolutely ‘unguardable.’
