Paul Pierce Revealed the Cause For His Gruesome Injury and Surgery

NBA legend and FS1 analyst Paul Pierce revealed that his gruesome finger injury was caused by a gym accident.

Pierce, 46, claimed that he dropped a 45-pound weight on his hand while appearing on Undisputed for the first time since revealing his injury and surgical procedure on his social media accounts over the weekend.

“I’m alright,” Pierce said. “I was crushing in the weight room and a plate fell on my hand. I was doing a plank with a 45. You know, nobody can do that really, but true gorillas in the weight room and then It slid off, smashed my hand, had to have surgery. But I’m here, bright and early Monday morning."

Pierce initially shared a photo of himself laying in a hospital bed, followed by three close-up shots of his fingers, which were mangled and covered in blood. One of Pierce's fingertips appeared to be facing the wrong way while another finger appeared to have experienced a long deep cut.

Pierce didn't reveal additional details on what happened or the extent of his injuries, but said he underwent surgery.
