Rob Parker Blasts Steelers For Bringing Back a Washed Up Big Ben in 2021

Chris Broussard: “It looks like this could be it for Big Ben.”

Rob Parker: “It should have been ‘IT’ last year let’s just be honest. I’m going to go off on the Pittsburgh Steelers organization. They’re the ones who kept him one year too long. The handwriting was on the wall a year ago! They didn’t have a backup plan, they should have drafted a quarterback a couple of years ago or last year. They had to have somebody ready. When Big Ben came back and took a pay cut to stick around you already knew you were getting a discounted quarterback because he had to take a pay cut to even be on the team. You knew what you were getting, and you weren’t getting steak, you were getting chopped liver. Bill Belichick is famous for getting rid of guys a year too early instead of a year too late and that’s what good teams do. The Steelers were in their feelings and living in the past. ‘DO YOU REMEMBER THAT SUPER BOWL WITH BIG BEN! REMEMBER HE SCORED THAT TOUCHDOWN!’ I get it, it’s hard to cut ties with someone who has been around your organization for so long but you got to move on at some point. The Steelers missed the boat on this and they’re the ones who sold out the rest of the team with a half-broken quarterback, with a chance to really do something if they had a quarterback. I don’t know anyone in Pittsburgh who is shocked by Big Ben playing like Uncle Ben in 2021. The Steelers are the ones to blame, not Big Ben. You’re never going to admit that you’re not good anymore, but Ben admitted it when he took a pay cut.” (Full Segment Above)

Listen to Rob Parker rip the Steelers organization for holding onto Ben Roethlisberger the last few seasons when Rob believes it was becoming painfully obvious that Big Ben was rapidly deteriorating.

Check out the segment above as Rob details why the Steelers should have already dumped Big Ben and had a contingency plan ready at quarterback for a roster talented enough to win a Super Bowl.
