Rob Parker: “Michael Jordan is the ONLY player who could have kept Isiah Thomas off the Dream Team. It wasn’t Bird, it wasn’t Magic, it wasn’t Charles Barkley, Jordan just used those guys as a buffer saying a lot of guys didn’t like Isiah Thomas… Jordan had no problem putting former teammates out to pasture in his own documentary, but when it came to Isiah Thomas, Michael Jordan sounds like a PUNK, and there is no other word. WHY IN THE WORLD ARE YOU PUSSYFOOTING AROUND THIS, OWN IT! IF YOU’RE GOING TO DESTROY SOMEBODY’S BASKETBALL LEGACY AND CHEAT THEM OUT OF ONE OF THE MOST CROWNING MOMENTS IN BASKETBALL AND YOU WERE THE REASON WHY, THEN OWN IT. You did it, Mike! Be a man! Why are you afraid to own up to what you did?? That’s why I called you a punk. You had every chance to clear the air and keep it real and you couldn’t do it.” (Full Audio Above)
Listen to Rob Parker absolutely uncork on Michael Jordan after a 2011 audio recording recently resurfaced of Jordan admitting that he wouldn’t agree to play in the 1992 Olympics unless Isiah Thomas was left of the team.
Thomas, of course, was infamously left of the Dream Team, which would be enshrined as perhaps the most iconic team in the history of sports. Many believe, and for obvious reasons, that Thomas being left off the team greatly damaged his legacy, as the void was something that could never been replaced.
Jordan has been sturdy with his denials of his role in denying Thomas a spot on the team, acknowledging his disdain for Thomas, but saying his opinion on Thomas didn’t have any bearing in USA Basketball ultimately leaving Thomas out.
Jordan was and still is the most famous basketball player of all time, and Parker finds it hard to believe that Jordan’s anti-Thomas leverage wouldn’t be the overriding factor for Isiah's fate.
Check out the audio above as Parker blasts Jordan for the recent audio revelation telling a different story to what Jordan has stuck with, saying that Jordan is a ‘punk’ for not simply admitting that he was the reason Isiah was snubbed from the Dream Team.
