Colin Cowherd is Worried the Suns Aren't As Good As We Thought They Were

Colin Cowherd: “I picked the Suns to get to the Finals… But when I watched the Clippers with all that depth against the Suns— my takeaway is: Phoenix needs another guy. They feel like they’re a guy short. If you gave them Normal Powell of the Clippers or a Terance Mann, just a reserve, it would feel different. They gave away three players, all of them important players, to Brooklyn to get Kevin Durant. They HAD to give up Mikal Bridges, everyone knew you had to give up a player like that to get Kevin Durant, but even a guy like Cam Johnson… Cam Johnson was averaging 14 points a game. That’s about what they feel like they need; a little margin for error. Every time Phoenix has a substitution you’re holding your breath. Cameron Payne is injured, and maybe when he comes back that’s ‘the guy’, but I feel like there’s no margin for error. Last night Phoenix’s starters shot 60% from the field, that’s not going to happen again. There’s no margin for error. The Clippers need another star, they have depth. The Suns don’t need another star, they need another ‘guy’ that the Clippers have a couple of. They need another dude. There’s no margin for error.” (Full Segment Above)

Watch Colin Cowherd explain why he’s concerned that the Phoenix Suns’ lack of depth is being exposed in their first round series vs. the Los Angeles Clippers, as Colin says the Suns' roster may have been spread a little too thin after their blockbuster trade to acquire Kevin Durant from Brooklyn earlier this season.

Check out the segment above as Colin says the Suns may ‘need another dude’, and that ‘dude’, the injured Cameron Payne, could decide their fate in the rest of the playoffs.
