Colin Cowherd: “Resumes matter. Draymond’s resume here hurt him. If you get a speeding ticket you get a fine. If you get multiple speeding tickets you lose your license. It also didn’t help Draymond with Adam Silver in attendance getting the crowd riled up. The memories of ‘Malice at the Palace’ run deep in this league. There’s the old saying ‘can’t yell FIRE in a crowded theatre.’ Inciting the crowd did not help Draymond Green at all. That ‘Malice is the Palace’ thing they still worry about and the damage it did to the league. With Draymond it's that old saying ‘our gifts become our curses.’ He has been at times a heel, a villain, a tough guy, and that’s the reason they have four titles. After Steph Curry, Draymond Green is the soul of this team. Steve Kerr has told people how valuable Draymond Green is at practice, in the flights, bringing energy, and you take the good with the bad. The good has been 90% and the bad has been about 10%. 2016, he gets suspended and they lose the Finals. He may have inflamed the relationship with Kevin Durant and he left. There’s the Jordan Poole punch, and then there’s this. You see it in business and relationships— that ego that helped you build an empire can often unravel you. The Warriors have always accepted the good with the bad with Draymond and it has overwhelmingly been good. This dynasty is now teetering. This season has been book-ended with a Draymond punch and a Draymond kick and I fear it’s the end of this dynasty. I’m not sure they can beat Sacramento without Draymond. The ball doesn’t move well, he’s their best defender, and he’s an absolute catalyst in timeouts. They need big games from other guys and I’m not sure they’re going to get it.” (Full Segment Above)
Watch Colin Cowherd react to the news of Draymond Green’s suspension for Game 3 of the Warriors’ first round series with the Sacramento Kings, as the often-troubled Green drew Adam Silver and the NBA’s ire with a stomping of Domantas Sabonis’ chest, coupled with Green's expressive taunting of Kings fans around the Warriors bench.
Check out the segment above as Colin believes these will be the final games of the Golden State Warriors dynasty.
