Producer: “Sports Illustrated shared a column on Wednesday listing the top 25 Super Bowl performances by a quarterback. Tom Brady was on there four times, Joe Montana three times, Kurt Warner twice... Top three was Steve Young, Doug Williams, and Nick Foles. When you comb through the top 25, one name that is shockingly absent is Patrick Mahomes.”
Rob Parker: “I’m not surprised by this at all because Patrick hasn’t had this moment and Sports Illustrated just proved that. That they could pick 25 other ‘moments’ dealing with a quarterback in the history of the NFL, and Patrick Mahomes not be attached to ONE of them? If that’s not telling... During his three Super Bowl appearances: 61.8% completion rate, five touchdowns, four picks, been sacked 7 times, and a quarterback rating of 79.7. If you’re talking about the regular season, I’m with you on Patrick Mahomes, but if you’re talking about the Super Bowl, I would take Eli Manning over Patrick Mahomes any day, any hour, any time.
Eli Manning is the MAN when you talk about a quarterback in those big moments. I don’t care about his regular seasons. Eli Manning – 96.2 quarterback rating, three touchdowns, one interception, and he beat Chris Broussard’s ‘GOAT’ [Tom Brady] TWICE. Eli has two of the greatest throws in Super Bowl history, including that pass to Mario Manningham. He beat the 18-0 Patriots! Eli Manning has been a better producer in the Super Bowl than Patrick Mahomes, and I would take Eli ANY DAY over Patrick Mahomes in a Super Bowl, and it ain’t even close.
SPORTS ILLUSTRATED PUT OUT 25 SUPER BOWL MOMENTS AND PATRICK MAHOMES WASN’T EVEN IN THE TOP 25! I’M STILL WAITING FOR PATRICK MAHOMES TO THROW A SIGNATURE THROW IN THE SUPER BOWL! HE DOESN’T HAVE ONE!”
Watch Rob Parker and Chris Broussard of Fox Sports Radio’s The Odd Couple discuss a recent Sports Illustrated article that ranked the 'Top 25 Quarterback Performances' in Super Bowl history, and one that surprisingly excluded Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Check out the segment above as Parker proclaims that he’d rather have Eli Manning than Mahomes in a big game and says that he’s still patiently waiting for Mahomes to produce a ‘signature throw’ in the Super Bowl.
