Washington Commanders Reportedly Want to Draft LSU's Jayden Daniels at #2

Colin Cowherd: “I’ve been told Jaylen Daniels at number two is going to be who Washington currently favors as their pick. Can things change? -- I’ve just been told, if you look at his style, and Kliff Kingsbury’s style, and his [Daniels'] ability as the Washington offensive line is in a rebuild mode this year and next -- is that Jaylen Daniels’ athletic ability – it's a little Lamar Jackson, he can really run – is the kind of quarterback that will endure as you’re rebuilding your offensive line.
Russell Wilson did not have a lot of great o-lines in Seattle, but in his prime he made it work. Kyler Murray in Arizona did not have a lot of great o-lines, but he made it work. There is absolutely some Lamar Jackson here with Jayden Daniels. What I’m told is the belief is that Jayden Daniels fits Kliff Kingsbury, who’s got a three-year deal there, and he fits a program and franchise that isn’t really very good in the run-game, isn’t very good on the offensive line, and he will create opportunities that wouldn’t exist with a less dynamic mover.”

Colin Cowherd of FS1’s The Herd says ‘he’s been told’ that the Washington Commanders currently favor drafting LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels with the no. 2 pick, despite the majority of NFL mock drafts having North Carolina QB Drake Maye going to Washington, and even a small handful of NFL insiders and draft analysts that have Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy as the pick for the Commanders.

Check out the segment above as Colin details why he thinks Daniels would fit a Kliff Kingsbury-led offense that will need his mobility to overcome a rebuilding offensive line.
