Chase Claypool's Injury is Revealed: Report

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Chase Claypool is reported to have experienced a "minor" injury during Tuesday's practice.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Claypool suffered a "minor ankle sprain" after an awkward landing late in Tuesday's practice.

ESPN's Brooke Pryor initially reported the second-year wide receiver "went down at the end of practice" with what appears to be a lower-body injury, though his injury status was not confirmed at the time.

NFL Network reporter Mike Garafolo reports Claypool "did not suffer a significant injury," according to sources.

"Major sigh of relief for Pittsburgh," Garafolo tweeted. "We’ll see what the resulting diagnosis is but definite relief after how it looked."

Claypool, 23, was selected by the Steelers in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

The former Notre Dame standout enjoyed a stellar rookie campaign with the Steelers in 2020, recording 62 receptions for 873 yards and nine touchdowns, as well as two rushing touchdowns, earning a spot on the Pro Football Writers of America's All-Rookie Team.

The Steelers will host the Detroit Lions during a preseason matchup at Heinz Field on Saturday.
