Doug Gottlieb: “I’m not sure I truly understand the negativity towards Tebow. Maybe that it’s the uncomfortableness for some of his deep religious faith, and ‘Tebow-ing’ with the kneeling in prayer. If the worst thing you do is give too much thanks to the good lord above, these aren’t really sinister things. There are far bigger problems in the world. To the people who say he got a chance because of ‘white privilege', you’re embarrassing yourself. I’m not going to sit here and tell you that there are professions, times, and places where being whatever race could help you – it absolutely has. The idea of Tim Tebow only getting an opportunity [because of his skin solor]? Like, that’s blind to all the facts that are staring you in the face. In the NFL, you generally follow guys who believe in you and who you had success with. Guys get opportunities because somebody BELIEVES in them. Greg Roman BELIEVED in Colin Kaepernick and that’s why Colin Kaepernick was going to become a Baltimore Raven. Why didn’t it happen? Because Kaepernick's girlfriend had a meme which likened owner Steve Bisciotti to the slave owner from 'Django Unchained' and they were like ‘yeah, that’s not going to happen.’ It has nothing to do with ‘white privilege’ or ‘black privilege’, in business and in life when you’ve had success with somebody, they’ll do you a solid and do you a favor. That’s not privilege, that’s BUSINESS. Anyone saying otherwise is being completely and totally disingenuous to the point where if you want to point out where racial prejudice or profiling does exist, we won’t take you seriously. I can’t take anything Stephen A. say seriously because of him or Jalen blowing the race whistle all the time.” (Full Video Above)
Listen to Doug Gottlieb call out some of Tim Tebow’s biggest critics in the media who had been pushing an anti-Tebow narrative the last few months that centered around ‘white privilege’ being the biggest reason why Tebow was receiving a tryout from the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Check out the audio above as Gottlieb details why he thinks it’s ‘embarrassing’ to bring up ‘white privilege' when it comes to Tebow, adding that it then becomes hard to take someone seriously the next time they speak on a racial matter.
