Blazin' 5: Colin Cowherd Gives His Five Best NFL Bets For Week 7

(VIDEO SEGMENT ABOVE)

Week 6 Blazin' 5 record: 4-1

Blazin' 5 season record: 17-13

Browns at Ravens (SPREAD: BAL -6.5)

“My one favorite I like is Baltimore -6.5. They have led every game by 10+ points, it’s a top 5 scoring offense, and their defense has a takeaway in 8 straight games. But this game is about Cleveland, they’re banged up on the o-line, banged up on defense, and the league has figured out Jacoby Brissett. The last three weeks he’s completing 55% of his throws, he’s 0-3, and he’s not always getting great protection. Also, Cleveland’s defense, due to Myles Garrett and Denzel Ward dinged up, they’ve been a terrible fourth quarter defense. The Ravens are furious and believe they gave away a game last week. They come home and they win convincingly, 28-20 over the Browns. It will not be this close though, the Ravens will control the game.”

Colin's prediction: Ravens 28, Browns 20.

Colin's pick: Baltimore -6.5

Packers at Commanders (SPREAD: GB -4.5)

“Green Bay may win but I’m going to take the 4.5 points. Taylor Heinicke had a great game the last time he faced the Packers and he’s completed 75% of his throws in three of his last four home starts. He’s a gamer and he can play. The Packers are having their fewest points scored in a six-game span in their history with Aaron Rodgers, and in second halves the past couple weeks they’ve been a mess. David Bakhtiari is all banged up, Randall Cobb out, Christian Watson has a hamstring issue— they have no second gear. And their defense is not pressuring the quarterback. They’re the only team allowing opposing quarterbacks to complete at least 70% of their passes. I’m going to take the points. I’ll take the Packers and Aaron to make something happen late to win, but 27-24 Green Bay, take the points.”

Colin's prediction: Packers 27, Commanders 24.

Colin's pick: Washington +4.5

Jets at Broncos (SPREAD: DEN -1)

“I’ll take the Jets +1, they won’t need the points, they’ll win outright. This franchise has taken the ball out of Zach Wilson’s hands. He doesn’t have any giveaways in five of his last six starts and they’re giving the ball to their running back Breece Hall, who is GREAT— 400 scrimmage yards the last three weeks. This is a defense and run-first team, and they’ve taken the ball out of Zach’s hands to make mistakes. The story of this Jets team is defense, the last three weeks they are gaining confidence, playing their butts off, and they will dominate a mess of an offensive line in Denver. Even when Denver moves the ball they are atrocious in the red zone. Is it coaching, is it Russell, is it the o-line? I don’t know what it is but IT IS, so they’re going to settle for field goals even with they move it. I'll take the Jets to win 24-23, I like their optimism, energy, and health right now.”

Colin's prediction: Jets 24, Broncos 23.

Colin's pick: New York +1

Chiefs at 49ers (SPREAD: KC -2.5)

“I’m taking the Niners. They’ve won six straight home games, Garoppolo is always better at home, and they’re getting healthier. They’re averaging 7.3 yards after the catch, that’s best in the NFL, and the Chiefs are not a great tackling team. The Niners defense is getting healthier and they are MONEY, baby! Nick Bosa is back, and Jimmy Ward could be back. The Chiefs have allowed 3+ touchdowns in five of six games, the most in the NFL, it’s a leaky defense. I know, they just lost to Buffalo… They lost to Buffalo because Buffalo in that game was the better team. San Francisco, while not completely healthy, at home is the better team here, and they beat the Chiefs 30-27.”

Colin's prediction: 49ers 30, Chiefs 27.

Colin's pick: San Francisco +2.5

Seahawks at Chargers (SPREAD: LAC -5)

“It’s an interesting one, I initially leaned Chargers, but I’m going to take the Seahakws for a couple of reasons. We have to be honest here, Geno Smith is playing really well. 72% completion percentage, 13 touchdowns, 2 picks— with these rookie tackles in Seattle [Charles Cross and Abraham Lucas], both are fantastic, and they have a run game with Kenneth Walker that’s two-tiered… And the Chargers, even when they’ve won, 3 of their 4 wins have come by less than 6, so they’re in a lot of close games. Justin Herbert got pressured 15 times last week, their offensive line is still not completely healthy, and they’re allowing almost 6 yards per play. It’ll be a really wildly entertaining game that can go either way, but we’ve gotta be honest here— these rookie offensive tackles for Seattle, Kenneth Walker, and Rashaad Penny? This offense now is for real, we’ve seen multiple weeks of it. We’ve got a little upset here, I think the Seahawks win a wildly entertaining game, 28-24.”

Colin's prediction: Seahawks 28, Chargers 24.

Colin's pick: Seattle +5
