One of the Pittsburgh Steelers' top offensive players reportedly experienced an injury late in Tuesday's practice.
ESPN's Brooke Pryor reports second-year wide receiver Chase Claypool "went down at the end of practice" with what appears to be a lower-body injury.
Pryor reported Claypool was helped by quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and tight end Eric Ebron after experiencing the injury but clarified that Claypool initially walked off the field by putting some weight on his legs and lower body while putting his arms around the two teammates "to get some assistance."
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette photojournalist Matt Freed tweeted a photo of Roethlisberger and Ebron helping Claypool off the field.
NFL Network reporter Mike Garafolo reports Claypool "did not suffer a significant injury," according to sources.
"Major sigh of relief for Pittsburgh," Garafolo tweeted. "We’ll see what the resulting diagnosis is but definite relief after how it looked."
Claypool, 23, was selected by the Steelers in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
The former Notre Dame standout enjoyed a stellar rookie campaign with the Steelers in 2020, recording 62 receptions for 873 yards and nine touchdowns, as well as two rushing touchdowns, earning a spot on the Pro Football Writers of America's All-Rookie Team.
The Steelers will host the Detroit Lions during a preseason matchup at Heinz Field on Saturday.
