Colin Cowherd: Colts Are a Quarterback Away From Winning Super Bowls

Colin Cowherd: “The Colts are the Kansas City Chiefs. That Midwestern team in conservative Kansas City went for it a couple years ago. Kansas City was the Colts. Andy Reid, good GM, stable long-time owner, roster was really good, and there were a playoff team, but they were an NFL quarterback quicksand. They were too good to get a top 10 pick so they had to move up, roll the dice, and take a chance on Patrick Mahomes. Like Philip Rivers, their quarterback Alex Smith was good enough to get you to the playoffs, but you’re not going to win a Super Bowl… It’s time to roll the dice fellas. I know you’re in the conservative Midwest, but it’s time to be progressive and roll the dice. Kansas City did, and it paid off. Do you want to be the Minnesota Vikings and win 10-11 games, make the playoffs, win a playoff game, but you’re too good and drafting between 21-29, and you can never quite get the quarterback you want? So you get Kirk Cousins and you keep winning, but you’re not going anywhere. You’ll be respected, well-liked, you’ll win games, get to the playoffs, but nobody really takes you seriously in the Super Bowl conversation. I think the Colts are THAT good. They are a ‘go-for-it’ move at quarterback away from being Kansas City.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he thinks the Colts find themselves in the same position as the Kansas City Chiefs did three years when they had Alex Smith, as one of the most talented teams in the NFL with a ‘decent’ quarterback but one who was never taken seriously in Super Bowl conversations.

Check out the video above as Colin details why he loves the Colts so much, and why he thinks they’re a quarterback away from becoming the NFL’s best team.
