Former league MVP James Harden finally got his wish granted. Today, news broke that Harden is being traded to the Brooklyn Nets, according to NBA insider Shams Charania. The blockbuster included the Rockets, Nets, Cavs, and the Indiana Pacers.
After the Lakers defeated the OKC Thunder tonight, Lakers big man Anthony Davis was asked about the deal that sent Harden to the Brooklyn Nets and what they thought of the move. Here is what he said tonight about the deal:
“He got to one of his destinations. He wanted to play there. We’ll see how it goes. … They look good on paper. We’ll see how it goes when those guys get in between the lines and get a chance to play alongside each other,” Davis noted, via Ryan Ward of Lakers Daily.
Following the trade, the Nets have emerged as a top candidate to win the title with Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving as a new big three in the Eastern Conference. Harden and the Nets will face the Lakers for the first time this season on February 18.
