Rob Parker: No One Should Feel Sorry For 'Phony' Deshaun Watson

Chris Broussard: “You’ve been banging on Deshaun. You wrote nasty things about him in Deadspin, and you’ve been spouting stuff about him on The Odd Couple. Have you had a change of heart??”

Rob Parker: “NO WAY, NO HOW. The Texans, if they do trade him, are doing the right thing. I’m a big believer that if you don’t wanna be a part of the organization then I don’t want you on my team… The one line from Pat Riley I hold dear to is that ‘EITHER YOU’RE IN, OR YOU’RE OUT.’ He was all fine to sign money with the same guy he has no confidence in now?? It’s PHONY. I don’t buy it. If you wanna make a real statement he could have told that guy ‘I DON’T WANT YOUR MONEY, I DON’T WANNA BE HERE.’ Then I would have applauded him. You don’t ask someone to make you a financial commitment and then trash the organization. That’s not the way it works, be a man and stand up and say ‘I don’t want your money’… There is such a fallacy about ‘wasting’ a career. Every year only ONE guy wins; does that mean that the other 31 guys didn’t do anything?? There’s no guarantee that Deshaun Watson is going to win anything. Don’t make this a pity party that Deshaun Watson HAS to win. SAYS WHO?? NOBODY! Look at all these other quarterbacks who didn’t win and you’re sitting here going ‘Deshaun Watson made the playoffs 2 of the last 4 years’ and THAT ain’t good enough?? DON’T SIGN THE DAMN CONTRACT! You should have said ‘No, thank you!’ and signed elsewhere. I would have had respect for that.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Rob Parker explain why he doesn’t remotely feel sorry for Deshaun Watson’s awkward juxtaposition with the Houston Texans franchise, as Rob says Watson should have had the backbone to stand up to the Texans’ front office when negotiating his contract last offseason, and not a year after the ink on his new colossal deal was dry.

Check out the video above as Parker details Watson’s entire flout this offseason has been disingenuous, and why he thinks the Texans should just trade the malcontent four-year pro.
