Rob Parker: Steelers Need to Cut Ben Roethlisberger Right Now

Chris Broussard: “Where you at on Big Ben with the Steelers?”

Rob Parker: “THANKS, BUT NO THANKS. I’m GOOD, thank you very much, thanks for the Super Bowls. Dude, you need to cut bait and go the other way. He’s like the Tin Man and he can’t move. I’d rather have Uncle Ben than Big Ben at this point. I understand nobody likes to go out like that, but you don’t always get to write your own script, unfortunately, that’s how life is. Get out while you can. Do you wanna be replaced in the middle of the season? Do you wanna be 0-5 and have to bench Big Ben? You don’t wanna go out like that. You’re an OLD 38, and he looks 48. I don’t want any part of it if I’m Pittsburgh. I’ve seen the last of Big Ben and don’t think he has it anymore.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Rob Parker explain why he thinks the Steelers need to avoid any offseason drama with Ben Roethlisberger’s future and the potential of him taking a pay cut by just outright releasing him once the current season ends.

Pittsburgh would be on the hook for $22.5 million if they release Big Ben now but would take on a $41 million cap hit if he plays next season.

Check out the video above as Parker details why he thinks it’s time to simply cut ties with the two-time Super Bowl champion.
