Listen to recently retired New Orleans sports icon, Drew Brees, join The Dan Patrick Show just a few weeks after the future Hall of Famer officially announced his retirement from the NFL after 20 seasons.
The 42-year-old finished his career making 13 Pro Bowls, 5 All-Pros, led the league in passing yards seven times, completion percentage six times, touchdown four times, and passer rating twice.
He was a Super Bowl champion in 2009, the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year in 2006, the NFL’s Comeback Player of the Year in 2004, and goes out as the career passing yards and completions leader.
Brees will now look towards a career in the booth with NBC, as the last shot of Brees on the field in a uniform will be losing to fellow legend Tom Brady in the NFC Divisional Round.
Check out the interview above as Brees talks about his new gig with NBC, the decision he made to finally leave the league after 20 years, the pain and struggle he had to endure with his devastating mid-season rib injury, and how he thinks the Saints’ quarterback duel between Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill will play out.
