Why You Shouldn't Be Impressed With Matthew Stafford's Rams Debut

Rob Parker: “People in LA, I get it, you want to get all excited, but let me just give you some reality. This is not new for the Rams. You can go ahead and act like Matthew Stafford is the savior and nobody has ever done this. The Rams scored 30 points in at least 75% of their games in 2018. The Rams tied a franchise record of 12 30-point games when they went to the Super Bowl. They scored 32.9 points per game, that by itself was 12th all-time. 421.1 yards per game, 6,738 total yards – 12th best. The Rams were only the fourth team in NFL history to have at least 400 first downs. Here’s the kicker – the guy you didn’t want and the guy who was ‘TERRIBLE’, Jared Goff, had two seasons under McVay with higher passer rating seasons (100.5 in 2017, 101.1 in 2018) than any season Matthew Stafford played at least ten games in. Stafford has never matched that. They had a guy who was doing what Stafford did. I know people are going to act like this is all brand new and ‘MY GOD, LOOK AT THE RAMS!’, no, they were there in that Super Bowl and got undressed. All I’m saying is that this is not new for the Rams… Stafford has no resume for what they’re asking him to do. He has a HORRIBLE record against winning teams for his career. Putting up numbers during the regular season I’m not surprised. He can put up numbers but can he win the big game you’re looking for? I don’t believe it’s going to happen.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Rob Parker explain why he’s not spending his week gushing over Matthew Stafford’s boisterous debut with the Los Angeles Rams, as Rob says it’s not much of a surprise that a Sean McVay propelled quarterback put up big numbers during the regular season.

Stafford finished the game 20 for 26 with three touchdowns in a 34-14 blowout victory over the pathetic Chicago Bears.
