Colin Cowherd Unveils His First NFL Mock Draft For 2023

Watch Colin Cowherd drop his first 2023 NFL Mock Draft of the year, with Colin predicting a blockbuster trade in the first ten picks.

1. Carolina Panthers: Bryce Young, QB, Alabama

“They can’t get the quarterback position right, he’s the most refined. You don’t have to babysit this kid, he’s a grown-up, sees the field, accurate, moves well— yes, he’s small, but he is the most complete quarterback available. Frank Reich played the position and I think he sees that and knows that.”

2. Houston Texans: CJ Stroud, QB, Ohio State

“The Texans need a quarterback who doesn’t make mistakes. DeMeco Ryans has a chance to be a very good coach, and defensive coaches want to win with defense and field position, and CJ Stroud makes very few ugly mistakes. His comp is Jared Goff.”

3. Arizona Cardinals: Jalen Carter, DT, Georgia

“Arguably the best player in the Draft and they just lost JJ Watt. They have a defensive head coach and his specialty is front-sevens. In a division with a lot of offensive minds, I want the best interior defensive line prospect in years.”

4. Las Vegas Raiders [after trade w/ Colts]: Will Levis, QB, Kentucky

“The Raiders move up from no. 7 to no. 4 and take Will Levis. I’ve got issues with Will Levis but he is what Jimmy Garoppolo isn’t— healthy, athletic, and he’s got a big arm. Josh McDaniels sees himself as a quarterback guru who took Tim Tebow in the first round.”

5. Seattle Seahawks: Will Anderson, EDGE, Alabama

“They will strongly consider Anthony Richardson, but this kid led college football in sacks over the last two years, six more than any player, and may be the best player in the Draft.”

6. Detroit Lions: Myles Murphy, EDGE, Clemson

“Lions stay on defense after having the worst defense in the league last year statistically. They solved their cornerback issue in free agency, now they solidify their pass rush.”

7. Indianapolis Colts: [after trade w/ Colts]: Paris Johnson Jr., LT, Ohio State

“I think they’re going to get in the Lamar sweepstakes potentially after the Draft or bottom out. They’re going to get the best left tackle. They allowed a lot of sacks, the AFC has got a lot of pass rushers, and this kid is a monster.”

8. Atlanta Falcons: Christian Gonzalez, CB, Oregon

“They need playmakers in the backend and will get the playmaking, long corner from Oregon, who I think is going to be a steal at eight. I think he’s a great, great player. Last year they only had 17 takeaways all season, they need some playmakers.”

9. Chicago Bears: Tyree Wilson, EDGE, Texas Tech

“Long and athletic edge rusher. Fourteen sacks for this kid the last two years, and the Bears had the fewest pressures and the fewest sacks in the league last year.”

10. Philadelphia Eagles, Peter Skoronski, OT, Northwestern

“He can play all five offensive line positions. Jason Kelce probably leaves after the year. Northwestern always does really well with o-linemen. Lane Johnson re-signed at right tackle but he’s getting older.”
