NFL Player's Niece Was Born at Stadium During Game

Cleveland Browns wide receiver David Bell's niece was born at Lucas Oil Stadium while he was playing against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday (October 22).

Bell, an Indianapolis native, confirmed that the mother of the child was among his 300 family members and friends who attended the game.

“Our niece was born here in the stadium today,” Butler told WLFI. “Our niece went into labor and they delivered her at 1:20. So it’s a really exciting day today.”

Bell told the news station that he was notified of the child's birth after the game, which the Browns won, 39-38, during one of the most thrilling matchups of Week 7.

“It’s a blessing, so her whole idea was to try to have the baby before the game, but it’s all in God’s timing, so now I have a new niece so hopefully I get to see her when I come back to the city," Bell told WLFI.

Bell's homecoming also featured a matchup against former high school teammate, Julius 'Juju' Brents, who plays cornerback for the Colts and said he was grateful for the support of his loved ones.

“For a lot of them, this was the first NFL game that they were able to come to, so it was definitely a blessing to see their baby boy’s dreams come to a reality and they can see it in full fruition,” Bell told WLFI.
