The Tennessee Titans are reportedly trading former All-Pro safety Kevin Byard to the Philadelphia Eagles, a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport on Monday (October 23).
"Source: The #Eagles are trading for Kevin Byard," Rapoport wrote on his X account. "Full terms: -- The #Eagles get Kevin Byard. -- The #Titans get S Terrell Edmunds and a 5th and 6th rounder."
Byard, 30, was a First-team All-Pro and Pro Bowler in 2017 -- having tied current Eagles cornerback Darius Slay for the most interceptions among all NFL players -- and 2021. The former Middle Tennessee State University standout started in all of the Titans' first six games of the 2023 season prior to the reported trade.
"Who did the #Eagles get? A two-time first-team All-Pro, a two-time Pro Bowler and a former NFL interception leader. Casually added to one of the league's best teams," Rapoport wrote.
The Titans had previously traded wide receiver A.J. Brown to the Eagles during the 2022 NFL Draft. Brown, who spent his first three NFL seasons as Byard's teammate, expressed his excitement in reuniting with the former All-Pro safety. [Post was Later Deleted].
"We really just got the Mayor!" Brown wrote on his X account with a popular meme of a baby smiling.
