Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts said he played with a brace on his left leg during the second half of his team's 31-17 'Sunday Night Football' win against the Miami Dolphins.
Hurts, 25, is reportedly believed to be dealing with a knee injury, a source with knowledge of the situation told ESPN, but the quarterback doesn't seem to be worried.
"I'll be fine," Hurts told reporters after Sunday's (October 22) game and responded with, "I hope not," when asked if he thought he'd be affected moving forward.
Hurts threw for 279 yards, two touchdowns and one interception on 23 of 31 passing, while also recording 21 yards and one touchdown on 11 rushing attempts, but was limited to just three rushing attempts during the second half. The 25-year-old appeared to be grimacing as jogged off the field after Sunday's win and his Eagles teammates seemed to hint that he played through pain.
"I don't want to put his business out there, but he's a tough individual," said wide receiver A.J. Brown via ESPN.
"Our style of play, sometimes he scrambles out and may get nicked up," added right tackle Lane Johnson. "But he does a good job. He never really shows it or complains or anything."
Hurts was late exiting the tunnel for the second half and backup Marcus Mariota was seen warming up on the Eagles' sideline, which created concern about the starter's potential injury status. Head coach Nick Sirianni said the team had no doubts about Hurts re-entering and finishing the game in the second half.
"He played the rest of the game and played at a very high level," Sirianni said via ESPN. "I thought he played really outstanding. Man, he is a competitor. There is nobody else I would rather be our quarterback. He played his butt off tonight. He's tough."
The first-place Eagles improved to 6-1 with Sunday's win.
