Colin Cowherd Says This Player is the Most Underrated QB in the NFL

Colin Cowherd: “Brett Favre came out and said Davante Adams is really going to miss Aaron Rodgers and my takeaway was ‘no, that’s not true at all.’ Davante Adams is going to CRUSH with Derek Carr and the Raiders. It’s obvious that Derek Carr is a top 10 quarterback, and it’s amazing how much pushback I get on it. A lot of it is because we have to see things for them to be true, and Carr’s size is OK, his mobility is OK, his arm is good not great, and we like things to be 'unbelievable'. I think his ‘unbelievable’ ability is fourth-quarter comebacks. I think he’s very cool and very collected; he leads the NFL in fourth-quarter comebacks while being surrounded by mayhem for the last seven years. He leads all quarterbacks the last seven years with 30 game-winning drives; and this is with the Raiders and the shaky coaching, the chaos, and bad o-lines. He had the highest completion percentage of all quarterbacks in the league the last four years, so he’s the most accurate quarterback, and he’s the only quarterback last year who was top 5 in passing yards and completion percentage. It’s obvious he’s a top 10 quarterback and there is an argument for him to be in the #8-#9 spot because he beat Justin Herbert head-to-head in a game where the winner goes to the playoffs [#1 Mahomes, #2 Allen, #3 Brady, #4 Rodgers, #5 Wilson, #6 Stafford, #7 Burrow, #8 Herbert, #9 Murray, #10 Carr]. He’s more mobile than Matt Ryan who you could argue was #11, he’s more accurate than Dak Prescott who you could argue was #11, he can play from behind – I don’t know if Lamar Jackson can, and Kirk Cousins shrinks in big games. I don’t think it’s that controversial [for Carr to be ranked #10 in his QB rankings] when you can carry a team who is in utter chaos to the playoffs in a good division. He went to Fresno State so you didn’t watch him in college, he got hurt, he hadn’t made the playoffs a lot, and he doesn’t jump off the screen with his size or his arm, but those are your ten best.” (Full Video Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he thinks it’s ‘obvious’ that Derek Carr should be included in any list ranking the ten best quarterbacks in the NFL.

Check out the segment above as Colin lists all the reasons why Carr has been so strikingly underappreciated since he came into the league in 2014.
