Colin Cowherd: GM's Shouldn't Risk Their Career Trading for Jimmy Garoppolo

Colin Cowherd: “If you’re a GM and your owner wants Jimmy Garoppolo, be selfish, because it’s reported now that Jimmy G, who has a history of missing games, 25 in 4 years, is now out for 16 weeks, surgery on his throwing arm. You can’t go get him. Think about how much we liked Frank Reich a year ago – ‘BEST YOUNG COACH!’ Today his job is on the line because he went after Carson Wentz, and Wentz is better than Garoppolo and hasn’t had as many injuries as Garoppolo. When you combine Garoppolo’s injury and now this shoulder surgery, if he gets hurt you’re going to be looked at as a dummy. You have to set yourself up for success. I had Garoppolo to Tampa but cross him out, Jason Licht can’t do it. Jason Licht is a great GM, that’s a great roster, but you can’t do it. These NFL jobs are gold bars, a lot of times you don’t get a second job… I am a Jimmy G advocate but you can't sign him now. As a GM or coach, I couldn't do it." (Full Video Above)

Listen to Colin Cowherd explain why he thinks Jimmy Garoppolo has now become an untouchable in the NFL trade market with a throwing shoulder surgery on the horizon, as Colin says no GM would want to put their career on the line bringing in one of the league’s most injury-prone quarterbacks.
