Colin Kaepernick revealed he's willing to play backup quarterback on an NFL team, he just needs a chance to show what he's got.

The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback sat down for a rare interview on I AM ATHLETE with former NFL players Chad JohnsonAdam Jones, and Brandon Marshall where he talked about his goal of playing in the NFL once again.

Marshall, a 13-season NFL vet, asked the 34-year-old if he'd be cool with taking a position like Carmelo Anthony in the NBA –– signing on to play professionally again for the Los Angeles Lakers but in a small role and at a veteran's minimum salary of $2.6 million.

Colin said he would, as long as he earns his place back in the league.

"I know I have to find my way back in. So, if I have to come in as backup, that's fine," the author and TV show creator said.

"But that's not what where I'm staying. And when I prove that I'm a starter, I want to be able to step on the field as such. I just need that opportunity to walk through the door."
