Colin Cowherd: “Here’s what worries me… Six years in with Buffalo and their excellent defensive coach and they still haven’t developed a run game. Sean McDermott developed a defensive line that is great, linebackers that are great, secondary that is great – he has leaned into and solved his side of the ball. Six years in and they still rely heavily on Josh Allen to pick up yards running the ball. Sort of like another defensive coach, Ron Rivera did with Cam, and often like what Mike Tomlin did with Big Ben. Defensive coaches letting those huge quarterbacks pick up yards and run things. It doesn’t last. It’s why Cam fell over a cliff at 32 and literally aged overnight. It’s why Ben aged overnight, and it’s why this cannot last for Josh Allen. These defensive coaches love physicality and they love toughness, do you not get the sensibility of PROTECT YOUR QUARTERBACK? This is not going to last and I saw it with Cam and I saw it with Big Ben and I think Josh has some of the talents of both. He’s a power runner like Cam and he will run guys over, and he’s got the arm and the deep ball like Big Ben. I thought Josh Allen was exhausted and a little sloppy at the end; OF COURSE he was, because they rely so heavily on him for the offense. I’m starting to feel like this is Carolina with Cam where if Allen plays well they win, and if he doesn’t play well they lose.” (Full Segment Above)
