Governor Greg Abbott Tells Clay Travis Football Should Be Played in Texas

It has been quite the week for Clay Travis and Outkick the Coverage, endorsing college football this fall. On Monday, Clay was joined by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, on Tuesday, the President of the United States, Donald Trump joined the program, and today, Clay is joined by Greg Abbott, the Governor of Texas.

This week has been a roller coaster for the world of college football. The Big 10 and Pac-12 have cancelled their fall sports seasons, and it seems like the ACC, Big 12 and SEC are still planning on playing this fall.

Texas Governor Abbott and Clay discuss a number of different topics on today's program, with college football in the state of Texas as a focal point. The state of Texas is the backbone of the Big 12, with the University of Texas, Baylor, Texas Tech, and TCU all members of the conference within the state. On top of that, the state is also represented in the SEC with Texas A&M.

Governor Abbott tells Clay that football needs to be played in his state, on all levels of competition, and that the state will do everything to make sure it is done is the safest possible way. They also touch on the possibility of some NFL fans being in attendance for Dallas and Houston games.

A fun topic wraps the interview, could a certain rivalry be in the works to return?
