Los Angeles Rams superstar defensive tackle Aaron Donald is being accused of assaulting a man outside a Pittsburgh nightclub in early April, according to Andy Sheehan of KDKA.
DeVincent Spriggs, 26, says that Donald assaulted him on April 11 between 3-4 am and intends to file charges with Pittsburgh police, his lawyer, Todd Hollis, told Sheehan.
Spriggs reportedly needed 16 stitches after suffering a broken orbital bone, a broken nose, a concussion, and sprained arm that may be broken.
Hollis alleges that Donald and Spriggs 'bumped' into one another in the nightclub, and says Donald would later approach Spriggs when they were both outside, and proceed to attack him.
Hollis provided a photo of Spriggs that has gone across social media this morning claiming that Donald was the one who assaulted him.
"We are aware of the reports regarding Aaron Donald," the Rams said in a statement Wednesday, per Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk. "We are collecting more information and will have no further comment at this time."
Donald is the NFL's reigning Defensive Player of the Year, taking home the award after racking up 13.5 sacks. The veteran also earned the honor in 2017 and 2018. Donald grew up in Pittsburgh and attended the University of Pittsburgh before being drafted by the Rams in 2014.
