Tom Brady Reveals He Contracted COVID Last Year

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady revealed that he was diagnosed with COVID-19 after leading the team to a victory in Super Bowl LV. Brady told Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times that he tested positive following the championship boat parade in February. Both of his parents also tested positive.

Brady said that he believes that the coronavirus will be a problem for teams as the Delta variant continues to spread across the country.

"I actually think it's going to play more of a factor this year than last year, just because of the way what we're doing now and what the stadium is going to look like and what the travel is going to look like and the people in the building and the fans," Brady said. "It's not like last year, although we're getting tested like last year. It's going to be, I definitely think guys are going to be out at different points, and we've just got to deal with it."

The Buccaneers are the Atlanta Falcons are the only two teams that have a vaccination rate of 100%. Despite reaching that threshold, the Bucs have three playersNdamukong Suh Nick Leverett, and Earl Watson, on reserve/COVID-19 list, ahead of their season opener against the Dallas Cowboys.

The Bucs didn't have too many issues with COVID-19 last season. Ronald Jones missed just two regular-season games, while Devin White was forced to sit out the final game of the season and the first playoff game against the Washington Football Team.
