Nick Wright Says Nets Bringing Back Kyrie Irving is a 'Terrible Idea'

Nick Wright: “I thought this was a bad idea three months ago so I still think it’s a bad idea. Just because the Nets were underachieving to the level you thought they would be at doesn’t make this all of the sudden a good idea. I hope Nets fans get used to what we’re about to see because it’s how the season is going to end. Let me explain why I think this is a terrible idea. Kyrie is not going to be able to play until January 5th. Then he’s off for a week until January 12th and then he’s back January 17th. So between now and January 17th that’s two games. Yeah, there will be road trips, but what folks need to look at, the last day of the regular season is April 10th – from March 27th on there is ONE game Kyrie Irving can play in. So you’re getting ready for the playoffs and you've got a push, Kyrie plays once at the end of March and then the season ends. Then there’s the play-in, and then there are the first two games of a playoff series, and those will be in Brooklyn because you’re the one or the two seed. Then Kyrie will make his debut after playing ONCE IN A MONTH for two games, and then it’s like ‘OK, we’ll see you against in two weeks for games 3 and 4’. I’m telling you right now that that is a DISASTER. Everyone knows that’s not going to work.” (Full Segment Above)

Listen to Nick Wright explain why he thinks it’s a ‘terrible idea’ for the Brooklyn Nets to bring back unvaccinated Kyrie Irving for road games only, as New York City still enforces a mandate that requires all individuals to present a vaccine card to enter indoor venues.
