Colin Cowherd: “Aaron Rodgers doesn’t have the rancor or bitterness that Brett Favre had in the end in Green Bay. It's now being officially acknowledged by Aaron that it’s 50/50 ‘they may trade me’ category. Unlike Favre he’s not bitter, resentful, or angry and I like how that lands. Usually when you have a divorce between team and star one side has an advantage. Most would say the Packers would be in real trouble [without Rodgers], but they’re in a very unique situation. The head coach is set, he’s an offensive head coach, the quarterback is in the building, knows the offense and is ready to play, the roster is mostly set, they have the 15th pick, they could get a first round pick or two for Aaron, and the division is still kind of wonky. They didn’t make the playoffs last year, it’s not like you’re breaking up the Bulls with Jordan here. If you can get Daniel Jones to the playoffs in a better division and a rebuilding roster, you can’t get Jordan Love? If they ever wanted to rip the Band-Aid off, it’s a pretty good time. I don’t think this would be the classic quarterback leaves, crushes the franchise, and you’re left holding the bag.” (Full Segment Above)
Watch Colin Cowherd discuss Aaron Rodgers’ future with the Green Bay Packers, and why he thinks Rodgers leaving would actually still leave the Packers in good position to keep contending for the playoffs.
Check out the segment above as Colin details why he thinks now would be the right time to ‘pull the Band-Aid off’ and move on from the future Hall of Famer.
