Los Angeles Rams' Van Jefferson and his wife Samaria have officially settled on a name for their newborn baby boy –– and it couldn't be more fitting: Champ Jefferson.
"Champ Curtis Jefferson," Van revealed on The Adam Schefter Podcast. "That's the name we got." The nearly two-week-old baby boy was born on Super Bowl Sunday (February 13) the same day his dad won the big game.
Video captured the moment the wide receiver learned his wife was in labor right after winning Super Bowl LVI. Still in uniform, he rushed off the field with their children to help welcome the family's newest addition.
Jefferson also shared that he and his wife considered other names, including "Wynn" and "Miles," but Champ was just too good.
"We just looked it up and 'Champ' is like a warrior," Van said. "And my wife is a warrior." According to TMZ, Samaria was actually at the game and had to be carried out of SoFi stadium in a stretcher after going into labor.
As a "push present" the NFL star said he purchased his wife a Range Rover.
