Jason McIntyre: “Once you say something nice about someone they reply ‘okay, I see you’. Then, when you say something not so nice you get this: ‘You’re such a clown. You don’t even like sports, you look like a drama major.’ I don’t know what that means, I’ve never taken an acting class in my life. I said to KD ‘Why is one of the 15 best players in the history of the NBA squabbling with anonymous fools in the comments section? It was never your brand when you won MVP and then 2 titles and Finals MVPs. Why Pivot that way now?’ He just got personal: ‘You’re a fool’, blah, blah, blah. He used the ‘p-word’ to describe me. He calls me ‘broke boy.’ He doesn’t address any of it. Doesn’t address why he would argue about being top 5. I’m a Kevin Durant guy. ‘Well, Jason, if you’re a Kevin Durant guy, why are you saying he’s an idiot for battling guys in the comment section of a Twitter spaces?’ Well, timeout, this isn’t black and white of loving this guy or hating this guy. You can like someone and totally disagree with something that they’re doing. Are we really at the state where we have to be 100% all behind somebody, or 100% against somebody? It doesn’t work like that. Bottom line, I still like Kevin Durant even though he’s calling me all these names. He’s hurt, I get it, life will go on.”
Watch Fox Sports host Jason McIntyre discuss a bizarre recent exchange he had with NBA star Kevin Durant over Twitter that resulted in Durant calling ‘The Herd with Colin Cowherd’ co-host a ‘broke boy’ and ‘P-word.’
McIntyre says Durant, already considered one of the most thin-skinned athletes in modern sports history, took exception to McIntyre recently criticizing Durant for blasting fans in a Twitter spaces discussion questioning if KD is still one of the five best players in the NBA.
Durant intercepted the segment, boasting ‘I just think the way ya’ll look at the game is wack as f*ck’, then ironically added ‘these lists don’t really mean nothing anyway, so why you getting so upset about them?’
McIntyre then did a segment on his ‘Straight Fire’ podcast calling out Durant for mixing it up with the ‘unwashed masses’ on the internet.
When Durant got wind of the 'Straight Fire' segment he apparently direct messaged McIntyre saying ‘you’re such a clown. You don’t even like sports. You look like a drama major.’ McIntyre then said KD called him a ‘broke boy’ and ‘p***y.’
Durant has a long history of infamous social media tantrums, even at one point having to admit to operating multiple burner accounts on Twitter after a 2017 exchange where he accidentally 'got caught' using his verified account to defend himself against fans ripping him for never winning a title in Oklahoma City.
The 34-year-old Durant is still trying to regain his footing after abandoning a Golden State Warriors dynasty he won back-to-back Finals MVPs in, as Durant has spent the last three years on failed Nets and Suns teams who many had picked to win championships.
Durant’s Suns spent the offseason parting ways with future Hall of Fame point guard Chris Paul and acquiring respected All-Star sharpshooter Bradley Beal to form a ‘Big 3’ with KD and Devin Booker that could be on-par with any other threesome in the NBA as the best trio in the league.
