Watch Colin Cowherd react to Monday’s blockbuster trade that saw the New York Jets trade former no. 3 overall pick Sam Darnold to the Carolina Panthers for a 2021 sixth-round pick, a second-round pick in 2022, and a fourth-round pick in 2022.
The tumultuous partnership with Darnold and the embattled Jets is finally over, with Darnold finishing up his time in New York with a 13-25 record, 45 touchdowns, 39 interceptions, and a 59.8% completion percentage in three unremarkable seasons.
Darnold will forever be tied to the notable 2018 NFL Draft class that included quarterbacks the likes of Darnold, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and Baker Mayfield.
The Panthers will keep their no. 8 overall pick, although many draft experts were predicting the team take quarterbacks Justin Fields, Trey Lance, or Mac Jones, depending on which player would have been left by that pick.
Check out Colin’s reaction above, as he had just finished Monday’s episode of The Herd when the news broke.
